Scar Face

It all started a few weeks ago when Mary detected a man lurking near her home. While entering her car, Mary noticed this wanderer was walking toward her, so she quickly closed the car door and drove away. She didn’t think much about this incident the rest of that day but leaving work the following week there he was again, prompting Mary to call the authorities. When the police arrived they questioned the man and then came to speak with Mary. They asked if she knew her alleged stalker or if she could offer any motivation he’d have for following her. With confidence, Mary denied knowing him and took offense to what the officers were implying. Brought face-to-face with this stranger, Mary experienced the epitome of an awkward moment. She observed a particular lineament she’d only seen in pictures of a man she was told died before she was born. She tried not to make a scene but Mary suddenly became completely overwhelmed with emotion, as she cried out “Daddy?”
