Words have energy and power with the ability to help, to heal, to hinder, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate, and to humble.” -Yehuda Berg
This bel-esprit young lady is my new crush! At only 23 years old, Amanda Gorman is the first National Youth Poet Laureate and the youngest to speak at a Presidential Inauguration. “The Hill We Climb” shows why Miss Gorman is so deserving of that honor. In it she captured the climate of our country with words so perfect for the occasion, causing reflection on periods of division yet bringing hope for the future. I’m sharing this video because I just can’t admire Miss Gorman enough but also because she is an inspirational poet who set the bar high for aspiring poets, in style and sentiment.
Nothing I have in my queue compares to Amanda Gorman’s work, and I’m okay with that. Her colorful personality adds such flair to her words, motivating me to sharpen my mind and show more respect for the written word.
