KWANZAA is a seven day cultural holiday honored in the African and African-American communities, in celebration of their culture, family, and history. It is observed in the US from 26th December – 1st January. The name Kwanzaa, or “matunda ya kwanza” in the Swahili language, translates to “first fruits” and it signifies the first fruits of the harvest.
Tonight, 1st January we light the final green candle and discuss the principle of IMANI representing FAITH, which teaches us to believe in our people and the righteousness and victory of our struggle.
