Quitters Never Win

Charlie missed an entire football season after having surgery on his knee. His parents were concerned, knowing athletes had a propensity to suffer depression when kept off the field. Not sure how to keep Charlie engaged, they agonized daily over the best plan of action but nothing they discussed was necessary. Charlie refused to give up and never gave in. He was determined not to let his injury affect him mentally and strictly followed doctor’s orders for a full recovery.

“Winners never quit and quitters never win.”
—Vince Lombardi

The clock was ticking as Charlie counted down the minutes to game time. His nerves became more and more anxious while he laid in bed with nothing but calming psithurism of the autumn night to relax his mind. Nighttime seemed to quickly pass and the day was finally here. Army v. Navy rivalry has always been the biggest competition of the football season!

Charlie’s mom prepared a post-game feast of pot roast, cabbage, potatoes and more deliciousness in anticipation of a big win, then they all headed out to the game. Charlie stepped onto the field and played his best four quarters ever. After falling behind early in their first game, the team hustled back to take the lead and proudly claimed victory.

You know, writing about myself has always been a challenge. It's not that I'm unsure of who I am but rather I like people to discover me on their own. I will tell you this much - I'M REAL! I guess that's all you need to know for a first approach; stick around and you'll understand the power behind that statement. What I do is another story! I embrace life hoping to live my purpose as a mother, daughter, sister, confidante and friend; I laugh, cry, and support; I admire, like and love; I listen, read and write. Most importantly, I have faith and thank God for all of me. My intent is to inspire others using my gifts and "Don't Forget the Half" reminds me to cast nothing aside. Want to know more? Discover along with me as I live my life out loud.
