Let It Go!

Forgive the hurt, release your pain

Embrace the here and now today

No looking back, without delay

Create your joy and then maintain

Harmony’s pleasing to attain

Have peace of mind around the clock

Euphoric state will be a shock

Decide to change your condition

Right here, right now, grant permission

Free the emotional gridlock

Change Of Life (Décima)

Brain on pause, memory cloudy

Running on fumes, sleep’s a fortune

Flashing heat, extreme exhaustion

Erratic moods, cheerful, pouty

Mild temper erupts to rowdy

Focus shattered, thoughts all wander

Energy? None left to squander

Productive days get disrupted

Concentration interrupted

The Change” anguish—facts to ponder

My Grandmother (Décima)

She was feisty, spirit so rare

Time in my life was a blessing,

Her honesty was refreshing,

Love and care she showed was sincere.

Enjoyed hearing stories she’d share

Joined at the hip, me her and mom,

They brought me peace and kept me calm

When monsters plagued my bedtime thoughts

Or my stomach was tied in knots,

The Devil Is Defeated

Heavy burdens beyond control

That’s the devil trying to steal

Kill and destroy, attack with zeal

Leaving a giant gaping hole

Wreaking havoc deep in your soul

Tiny pieces left to rebuild

To find a way you must be willed

Just spread your wings, take flight and soar

Light of your life shines bright once more

No dreams deferred or unfulfilled

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
‭‭— John‬ ‭10:10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Let’s Be Better Humans

Figments of one’s mind

Viewing life in black and white

Creates suffering

No breaths to give, facing asphalt

Intricate scars with wounds so deep

Cries of the unjust scared to sleep

Flashbacks, memories of assault

Holding your pedigree at fault

Born a victim life holds you down

Melanin poppin, skin so brown

Taught to stay high when they go low

Hold your head up, don’t break your flow

Stand, be proud and center your crown
