We’re Fighting Ourselves

Written for One Liner Wednesday/JusJoJan.

“Right now there are more troops in DC than there are in Afghanistan.”

The United States of America now has its first President ever to be impeached twice. Those are not bragging rights!

We’re well beyond conflicting party lines, who you voted for and the question of who’s right and who’s wrong. NO American should be proud of where we are right now nor this country’s hundreds of years of immorality and corruption leading up to in this moment. To have only ten (10) Republicans speak out in support of a second impeachment is mind blowing.

Perspective: 197 lawmakers find no fault in the President’s actions or evidence he contributed to an insurrection that resulted in the death of five (5) civilians/law enforcement officers.

Farewell, My Love!

vows of commitment, promised

anytime and anywhere, brought

hope and expectation—but they

were all built on lies or

maybe a misunderstanding of

your true intentions but now

you’ve been exposed for the

duplicitous man you are.

mine eyes must be like

those of your mistress and

my voice, wonder if you’d

rather hear hers, tell me

when you sing with passion are

the words a reflection of

love that you desire to

share with someone else.

but now my heart has

turned a new direction and the

thought of what you’re losing has you

singing “woe is me,” and those

virulent indiscretions leave you

fighting for survival ‘cus your

heuristic way of living led to

health diminishing.

well, cry me a river or

possibly an ocean but

we now must end this painful

series of affliction and just

leave it all behind us, neither

hope nor expectations, no more

bitterness and lies…farewell

to you I bid adieu!

Dirty Diana

Diana was a ravishing new young superstar! Whithersoever she traveled, Diana captivated audiences with her grace and unrivaled flair for fashion. She quickly became one of the top requested celebrities to don an original piece of every high-end designer, a fringe benefit of having an hourglass figure. But what was seen as a thing of beauty to her fans was an arduous burden to Diana. Her poise and sophistication of today often became her pain and destruction of tomorrow, which Diana consoled with her biggest secret and greatest weakness – SEX!

Diana lived a salacious double life hidden from public view. She was thoughtful to plan well, always sneaking out a back door to journey to her rendezvous spot, so neither family nor friends would discover her illicit activity. Last Friday night was very different and forever changed Diana’s life.

As she sashayed across the floor, Diana was oblivious to the paparazzi, who’d been covertly following her throughout the night. When she slipped out the back door they were right behind her, cameras ready. She thought she’d heard footsteps but took little time to investigate. The next day, Diana awoke to someone banging on her door and nonstop cell phone notifications alerting her of the top news story. Her indiscretions had been laid out in every newspaper centerfold, titled “Dirty Diana.”

Please, Make It Stop!

It seems there’s no limit to the rioter’s utter disgust and display of betrayal to this country, and no end to the stories of everything that happened at the US Capital.

There’s absolutely no context that could make the following headline okay and it certainly wasn’t done in the spirit of a “protest.” They had no valid ax to grind and no justifiable reason for their detestable behavior and acts of lawlessness.

Hopefully all resource efforts go toward arresting and prosecuting everyone involved. Law enforcement can no longer afford to be complacent with showing the same lackadaisical response we’ve witnessed with certain nefarious groups in the past. It was shameful to see a number of on-site DC/Capitol Police so complaisant in the insurrection.
