As the United States transitions to what we all hope is a new period of peace, history was made once again upon the swearing in of Kamala Harris as the first woman and African/Asian-American Vice President, making this day unique in yet another way.
PERSPECTIVE: the FIRST Latina US Supreme Court Justice, a Bronx native and Yale graduate nominated in 2009 by the FIRST African-American US President, administers the oath of office to the FIRST African/Asian-American & FIRST female US Vice President, an Oakland native and Howard University graduate, using a Bible belonging to the FIRST African-American US Supreme Court Justice (1967), a Baltimore native & CIVIL RIGHTS ACTIVIST who graduated from Howard Law, the OLDEST Historically Black College/University (HBCU) law school.
Political pundits will reflect on this day for years to come. I’m feeling good!

The United States of America now has its first President ever to be impeached twice. Those are not bragging rights!
We’re well beyond conflicting party lines, who you voted for and the question of who’s right and who’s wrong. NO American should be proud of where we are right now nor this country’s hundreds of years of immorality and corruption leading up to in this moment. To have only ten (10) Republicans speak out in support of a second impeachment is mind blowing.
Perspective: 197 lawmakers find no fault in the President’s actions or evidence he contributed to an insurrection that resulted in the death of five (5) civilians/law enforcement officers.
It seems there’s no limit to the rioter’s utter disgust and display of betrayal to this country, and no end to the stories of everything that happened at the US Capital.
There’s absolutely no context that could make the following headline okay and it certainly wasn’t done in the spirit of a “protest.” They had no valid ax to grind and no justifiable reason for their detestable behavior and acts of lawlessness.
Hopefully all resource efforts go toward arresting and prosecuting everyone involved. Law enforcement can no longer afford to be complacent with showing the same lackadaisical response we’ve witnessed with certain nefarious groups in the past. It was shameful to see a number of on-site DC/Capitol Police so complaisant in the insurrection.
