Raindrops of My Heart

My soul weeps like a willow

bending but never breaking,

hanging on to hope.

Roaring loud as thunder,

burdens begin to fall

plethora of tears storm.

Slowly suffocating,

all of me is drowning

in the raindrops of my heart.

We’re Fighting Ourselves

Written for One Liner Wednesday/JusJoJan.

“Right now there are more troops in DC than there are in Afghanistan.”

The United States of America now has its first President ever to be impeached twice. Those are not bragging rights!

We’re well beyond conflicting party lines, who you voted for and the question of who’s right and who’s wrong. NO American should be proud of where we are right now nor this country’s hundreds of years of immorality and corruption leading up to in this moment. To have only ten (10) Republicans speak out in support of a second impeachment is mind blowing.

Perspective: 197 lawmakers find no fault in the President’s actions or evidence he contributed to an insurrection that resulted in the death of five (5) civilians/law enforcement officers.

Scar Face

Image Scar Face by

It all started a few weeks ago when Mary detected a man lurking near her home. While entering her car, Mary noticed this wanderer was walking toward her, so she quickly closed the car door and drove away. She didn’t think much about this incident the rest of that day but leaving work the following week there he was again, prompting Mary to call the authorities. When the police arrived they questioned the man and then came to speak with Mary. They asked if she knew her alleged stalker or if she could offer any motivation he’d have for following her. With confidence, Mary denied knowing him and took offense to what the officers were implying. Brought face-to-face with this stranger, Mary experienced the epitome of an awkward moment. She observed a particular lineament she’d only seen in pictures of a man she was told died before she was born. She tried not to make a scene but Mary suddenly became completely overwhelmed with emotion, as she cried out “Daddy?”

Peace Be Still

hiding from myself

old wounds open once again

just can’t find solace

“And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” - Mark‬ ‭4:39‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Hiding From Myself

Hiding from myself

Feelings overwhelm me

Emotions running deep

Flood my heart

Pain wrapped in sadness

Covered in depression

Hidden behind a smile

Showered with tears

Moving in unison

Just can’t find solace

Another gone too soon

Old wounds opened again

Unable to clear my mind

Deprived of sleep

Fear aplenty

Who’s next?
