Birds singing, sun shining
Empty space your pillow bare
Sleepless nights, lonely mornings
No sign of love seen anywhere.
Your walk of shame’s become a crawl
You creep inside and close the door
Glance over at me but I’ve been done
I just won’t take it anymore.
Again you’re late and didn’t call
And reek of what you can’t disguise
You say you’re sorry and you love me
With so much guilt behind your eyes.
No longer moved by your dried up tears
So much deception and endless lies
Kids need more of your attention
Give them hugs and you’ll hear their cries.
To be concise you can no longer stay
Stories you tell no excusable cause
I’ll say once again you gotta go
This isn’t temporary or a marital pause.
Sorry my dear we’ve reached the end
You’ll learn a very hard lesson today
My forgiveness completely depleted
It never had to end this way.
Faded memories of the time
Of watching you walk down the aisle
I fell in love all over again
With your beauty and winsome smile.
Though we said till death do us part
And vowed commitment for the rest of our lives
You’re adulterous ways caused too much pain
Gone are your days as my admirable wife.
