I grew up with a love for baking. Baked goods were always my contribution to family gatherings, or just a treat for whoever would be my taste tester. Unfortunately I got away from that at some point, but for good reason (or at least I found good excuses at the time). Once I became a parent and life got significantly more hectic with work, my son’s school and extracurricular activities, trying to have a personal life, and cooking often multiple times a day, my joy of baking quickly faded. I do believe that’s a part of me I’m more than willing and able to rediscover as a new hobby.
Fast forward to present times and my love for peach cobbler. I search for bakeries, restaurants, any food place with my favorite dessert on the menu. Love is really an understatement about my relationship with this deep dish of awesomeness, but anything more may border embarrassment.
Just imagine my delight when someone gave me a basket full of fresh market peaches recently, that at first I couldn’t imagine how to use. I mean, I eat peach cobbler but I’ve never made peach cobbler, and oddly enough I’m not too fond of eating plain peaches. Well, well, well…..perfect time for a little discovery, baking fun, and possibly indulgence, if all turns out right.
Prepped and ready to go in! My mouth is watering already.
I can’t say much more at this point. I have a date with this gal right here.
